The Mirwais Regional Hospital is the referral hospital for Afghanistan’s four southern provinces, with a coverage population of approximately 4 million people.
This mandate comprised the feasibility study and the design of a PV solar hybrid system adapted to the existing site conditions while operating most efficiently depending on the load and the availability of the existing power sources (grid, diesel, solar, BESS).
The system’s implementation is carried out in two phases. In Phase 1, ICRC tendered the construction of the on-grid PV power plant, for which the Consultant provided construction supervision services. The storage system (BESS) has been designed but will be implemented in a second phase, which is not part of this project.
