Our energy is transformative and the following stories are an example of it

In off-grid locations or where the grid is unreliable or provides reduced service, local renewables can transform lives, businesses and public services.

Distributed renewable energy sources enable reliable, affordable energy access, lowering the impact of conventional technologies.

“The day the lights came on was the happiest day for the entire community of Cerro San Simón. We are no longer afraid of the dark, or of anything. Now we can dream of a bigger development. Now everything is possible!”

List of stories

Cerro San Simon

We delivered the Cerro San Simón solar photovoltaic power plant, from design and construction to commissioning and operation, including the distribution network, tariff model, smart meters, and training for local teams.

4 rural communities in Burundi

We carried out the construction, installation, and commissioning of 5 hybrid solar microgrids in the villages of Buheka, Kazirabageni, Gatereni-Kinzanza, and Ndava.

Island villages on Lake Volta, Ghana

TTA completed, for the Ministry of Energy of Ghana and under the Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP) funded by the World Bank, the turnkey implementation of five microgrids in four island villages on Lake Volta, in central Ghana.

Mpale, Tanzania

Together with Ensol, we carried out a 48 kW hybrid solar minigrid project to provide electricity to around 3,000 people in the sparsely populated mountain village of Mpale, Tanzania. The project has benefited public facilities, such as a health centre, schools, churches and mosques, as well as local entrepreneurs and farmers.

Rural areas of Chad

In Chad, less than 5% of the population has access to electricity. In collaboration with UNIDO and other partners, we contribute to the construction of solar power plants in three different parts of the country. With the installation of solar panels, villagers can safely go to the mosque, fetch water, and visit the hospital at night. Additionally, farmers have seen their harvests improve thanks to a more efficient irrigation system.
