About TTA

Since its foundation, TTA has worked to promote access to energy services with a model based on integrated design, renewable energies and autonomous solutions, seeking to change fossil fuel based energy solutions. More than 35 years later, the vision of its founders, Xavier Vallvé and Jaume Serrasolses, continues to be more valid than ever and TTA remains a leading company in the sector.

Some of the significant milestones in TTA’s record

1986
First Solar PV system solutions
Before the existence of regulation for PV generators and installations in Spain, TTA takes the first steps in offering Solar PV system solutions, with 24 hours of service, for rural areas, planned the first gridconnected photovoltaic installations and develops the first PV plants integrated in buildings in Spain. During this period TTA also develops its own technology for electricity management.
1989
First PV program
Between 1987 and 1989, TTA managed the very first program in PV for rural electrification in Solsonés (Catalonia, Spain), and developed the first PV plants integrated in buildings in Spain (Mataró Library, Catalonia). At the same time, the first pilot projects of photovoltaic integration in buildings were being carried out in Germany.

First MSG in EU

Internationalisation
Once TTA generated a great impact at a local level, it was time to replicate the experience internationally. TTA goes international and expands the business to Latin America.
1998
Patent Electricity Daily Allowance
TTA has developed and patented in 1998 its own smart meter, with a concept of Electricity Daily Allowance (EDA), a sophisticated algorithm that controls the user’s electricity consumption. This revolutionary invention ensures Social acceptability, Technical durability of the solution, economic secure results.
2000
Consulting services to multilateral agencies
TTA begins working with multilateral agencies such as the World Bank providing advisory service for rural development through renewable energies and energy efficiency and contributing to the development of electrical operators at country level
2002
Creation of TTA offices in Ecuador
2004
First MSG in LAC
In 2004, TTA installed, with a great success, the first Multi-User Solar Hybrid Grids (MSG) in Latin America (Galapagos Islands, Ecuador).
2005
TTA co-funded ARE
TTA co-funded ARE, engaged the industry and created awareness and commitment at an early stage by participating in research projects and capacity building. With more than hundreds of partners around the world, TTA participates in dozens of forums and workshops every year, thus catalyzing knowledge and advancement in the sector.
2010
Patent ABLE
Patent of ABLE: ADVANCED BATTERY FOR LOW COST RENEWABLE ENERGY: METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GUARANTEEING THE SUPPLY OF ENERGY IN AUTONOMOUS INSTALLATIONS.

Commitment to the development of the sector

We remain at the forefront of the sector by promoting dissemination activities and participating in national and international technology standards committees.

TTA co-organises jointly with the University of Balearic Island, the International Conference on Solar Technologies & Hybrid minigrids to Improve Energy Access, international conference supported by several companies and institutions in the industry.

TTA has contributed to the creation of important national and international industry associations, such as ARE (Alliance for Rural Electrification) in 2012 and MAUE Mesa de Acceso Universal a la Energía) in 2023. TTA is also an active member of national and international technology committees. Moreover, it is affiliated or collaborates with various industry associations.
