Distributed renewable energy and energy access

What we do?

Unlocking the power of the sun to drive change and create new opportunities. We drive communities, institutions and economic actors around the world to achieve greater autonomy, well-being, security and new opportunities, enabling access to energy through renewable energies, in a fair and sustainable manner.

In areas which it is difficult and, in some cases, even dangerous to reach. From the dense Amazon rainforest to islands in the Pacific; in refugee camps and in conflict zones.

TTA’s team is a field work team. We form alliances, sharing with communities and international and local partners, providing comprehensive solutions in all aspects involved in the complexity of each project: institutional, regulatory and policies, social, environmental and financial.

We work with flexibility, creativity, and resilience to deliver our services.

The projects in which we participate may involve all or some of the above services.

We have experience covering the entire project cycle. From project identification and feasibility, design and detailed engineering, preparation of bidding documents, evaluation of proposals, Technical Due Diligence, construction supervision, to commissioning. Our services include regulatory, institutional, business model, tariff, social and environmental aspects.

Last but not least, there is no sustainability without training and capacity building. TTA places great importance on training, both at the academic and institutional levels.

Our broad experience allows us to provide knowledge and practical experience in workshops, seminars, courses and conferences at an internationally advanced level, contributing to the dissemination of best practices. In addition, in the context of the projects we carry out, TTA attaches particular importance to the training of users, as well as technical and administrative personnel for the operation and maintenance of renewable energy plants. TTA considers the development of local competencies to be fundamental at community and institutional level, and a necessary ingredient of a sustainable service.

Which technology solutions do we implement?

Minigrids

Minigrids are energy generation and distribution systems that operate autonomously (off-grid)

Interconnected hybrid power plants

Interconnected hybrid power plants optimize the use of local renewable sources to ensure an economically viable supply. These are usually multi-MW projects in island systems or large villages.

Off-grid PV power plants and Solar kits

These are off-grid solutions, which generate and supply electricity for individual users, public institutions, health centers/hospitals, schools, businesses, irrigation systems, pumping, mills, etc. Solar kits are pre-assembled and include electrical equipment.

Which energy services do our projects promote?

Access to energy is an indispensable, facilitating element that contributes to improve the social and economic development of communities, having an impact in several areas, such as:
Transportation:
Electric vehicles.
Agriculture:
Irrigation, greenhouses, farms, crop processing.
Street lighting:
Appliances, TV, radio, etc. Ventilation, air conditioning, Electric cooking.
Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH):
Water treatment, pumping.
Education and connectivity:
Lighting for extended study hours, computers/laptops connectivity, routers.
Health:
Biomedical equipment, lights for nighttime interventions.
Transformación de alimentos:
Empacadora de aceite, horno, máquina de cáscaras, molino, mezcladoras...
Food:
Preservation, processing and cooking: refrigerators, grinders, mixers, ice machines, electric cooking devices, etc.
Small stores:
Electrical equipment for small stores, hairdressing/beauty salons and crafts.
