The overall objective was to conduct an assessment of electricity access to better understand demand and supply and identify market barriers, key market players and support required to promote the growth of basic electricity services for conflict-affected zones (borders), host communities and forced displaced people (FDPs) in the G5 Sahel countries. TTA’s services covered:
Task 1 – Socioeconomic and demand assessment of conflict-affected communities, including assessment of energy needs and technology solutions.
Task 2 – Market characterization and Stakeholder assessment
Task 3 – Assessment of Delivery Mechanisms of Energy Solutions in Conflict-Affected Areas, including business models and delivery mechanisms, investments, environmental and social gender mainstreaming, risk analysis and mitigation.
