Project summary
\nCERES (Centers of Excellence for Resilient Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Solutions) is a 36-month transnational cooperation project co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. The project supports the growth, competitiveness and innovation capacity of Mediterranean micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through the establishment of three Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in Greece, Lebanon and Palestine.
\nThese CoEs will act as regional hubs providing technical training, entrepreneurship support, digital tools and access to innovative solar-based solutions aimed at improving energy resilience and supporting green and digital transitions.<\/p>\n
Role of TTA
\nTTA leads the technological development of the project\u2019s supervisory systems, including:
\n– The open-source supervisory IoT-based control unit,
\n– the remote monitoring and data platform,
\n– integration of these systems into pilot installations in the partner countries,
\n– technical specifications, benchmarking and quality assurance.
\nIn addition, TTA contributes to capacity building by supporting trainings, Living Labs and knowledge transfer activities across the three Centers of Excellence.<\/p>\n
Specific objectives of CERES
\n– Provide MSMEs with practical tools and services to support the green and digital transition.
\n– Develop 15 micro-credential training programmes tailored to market needs in solar technologies, monitoring systems, entrepreneurship and digitalisation.
\n– Establish three Living Labs to allow co-creation, testing and validation of new solutions.
\n– Implement 10 solar-based pilot projects demonstrating resilient, affordable and replicable applications.
\n– Strengthen cross-border cooperation and stakeholder engagement across the Mediterranean innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n
Pilot applications include
\n– Solar-powered charging stations (e-mobility and equipment)
\n– Solar potable water systems
\n– Agricultural support and wastewater applications
\n– Public lighting and community infrastructure
\n– Energy systems integrating digital monitoring and predictive maintenance<\/p>\n
